Jacobson leaving Maine & Co.
Matt Jacobson is leaving his job as head of business attraction firm Maine & Co. for a post with a technology company at Brunswick Landing.
Jacobson, who ran for governor in 2010, will become executive vice president of corporate development at Resilient Tier V Corp., according to the Bangor Daily News. Resilient in December 2010 said it plans to open a secure data center, disaster recovery center and composites manufacturing facility at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station, creating 150 jobs. As president and CEO of Maine & Co. since 2006, Jacobson helped attract businesses to Maine, including athenahealth to Belfast in 2007, Boston Financial Data Services to Rockland in 2008 and, most recently, Carbonite to Lewiston in May. Prior to leading Maine & Co., Jacobson worked at Canadian National Railways, and previously was president and COO of the St. Lawrence & Atlantic Railroad. Mainebiz named Jacobson to its 2008 Next list.
Peter DelGreco, Maine & Co.'s development specialist, will become the organization's new CEO, and Jacobson will remain on the organization's board, according to the paper. A Portland-based nonprofit, Maine & Co. provides consulting services to businesses interested in locating or expanding in Maine.
