BIW wins $680M destroyer contract

The U.S. Navy is awarding Bath Iron Works a $680 million contract to build the next ship in the DDG 51 Arleigh Burke destroyer class.

BIW's parent company, General Dynamics, was selected over Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, Miss., to build the destroyer, known as DDG 115, according to press releases from all four members of Maine's congressional delegation.
