Elmet Technologies acquires Wash. firm

Lewiston-based manufacturer Elmet Technologies Inc. has acquired a precision manufacturer in Washington and China for an undisclosed price.

The acquisition of JEVCO International expands Elmet's portfolio of products to companies in the aerospace, semiconductor, medical and other industries, according to a press release from the company. Elmet will benefit from JEVCO's experience in the aerospace industry to expand its ETI Precision subsidiary, launched in 2010, which precision-machines specialty metals in Gordonsville, Tenn. "This acquisition represents the next step in our globalization strategy," said Robin Cook, president and CEO of Elmet Technologies.

Following the acquisition, JEVCO will continue operating independently. It has operations in Gig Harbor, Wash., and Chengdu, China.
