Call for photography

Mainebiz, a multimedia business news source, is publishing a hardcover, heirloom-quality book called Maine: A portrait of the pine tree state. The book features 150 pages of gorgeous photography, exclusively shot by Maine photographers. We invite you to help us tell the unique story of Maine life. We're inviting organizations and photographers to submit images to help tell the unique story of Maine life.

About the book

The book contains two parts: a comprehensive photography section showcasing Maine life, and a section profiling participating businesses. Statewide organizations and participating businesses are already planning to use this book to promote the state in a variety of ways: corporate gifts, recruitment tools, and marketing. Additionally, we've developed a comprehensive and thorough plan for distribution with a global reach.

The concept

We'll portray the experience of living and working in Maine through creative, high quality photography. The theme of the photography portion is "Maine: Dawn to Dusk". We'll show Mainers throughout their day: working, living, exploring, tasting, and enjoying Maine. We'll share what makes Maine special (the sights, events and icons) and why it's a great place to live and work (activities, businesses, food). With a wide array of subjects, locations, and perspectives, we have a special interest in images that feature time of day and emotion. We are interested in all types of photography: black and white, fine art, commercial, editorial and photojournalism. Click here to see our suggested shot list.
