USDA awards $180K for renewable energy work

The Greater Portland Council of Governments and the Maine Community College System are receiving grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for renewable energy projects. The two organizations are among 10 around the country that received funding to help rural small businesses and agricultural producers reduce their energy consumption.
