Casella pursues landfill-to-UMaine gas pipeline

A subsidiary of Casella Waste Systems Inc. has filed a petition with state regulators for an $11 million-$13.5 million gas pipeline from Juniper Ridge Landfill in Old Town to the University of Maine in Orono. The pipeline would send methane gas from the landfill to UMaine to run boilers and heat campus buildings.
