Erick James is a Business Growth Consultant with the Business Growth Services team at the Center for Economic Growth in Albany, NY. He works with small and mid-sized manufacturing and technology companies leading growth projects and training programs focused on revenue generation and process improvements.
He is a certified Innovation Engineering Black Belt and specializes in helping companies create, communicate, and commercialize innovations using the Innovation Engineering Management System* with clients ranging from start-ups, to universities, to 3rd generation manufactures, to service-based companies and consultancies.
In 2010 Erick received the "Group Practitioner of the Year" award at the National Manufacturing Extension Partnership Conference.
As a writer, he has co-authored three books: How Not to Suck at Communication, How Not to Suck at Mentoring, and the illustrated and design-award winning parable Change: A Story for All Ages.
He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from Cambridge University (UK).
Additionally, Erick is a professional stand-up comedian who plays clubs, colleges, and theaters all over the country.
