The Hancock County-Bar Harbor airport is now on the map for travelers booking JetBlue flights out of any airport around the country.
In the wake of Colgan Air dropping its service from Bar Harbor to Boston, Cape Air stepped in — but, a partnership between that airline and JetBlue was not apparent. The airport is now included in the major airlines' online booking site, allowing travelers around the country to buy tickets to Bar Harbor as a single trip.
"That's a really big deal for us," airport Manager Allison Rogers told the Mount Desert Islander.
Jacqueline Donohoo, Northeast marketing manager for Cape Air, told the paper that the new listing will be "a great way to get the word out to people who may never have been to Bar Harbor or who usually fly to Bangor and then drive to Bar Harbor."
