TD Bank survey finds increasing small biz stress

A TD Bank survey of 400 small business owners from Maine to Florida found that 60% say their levels of stress are increasing.

Most respondents — 33% — attributed the jump to challenges of managing finances. Managing employees ranked as the top cause for 20% of those respondents reporting higher stress levels and 19% said sales and marketing were their top stressors.

In a press release, the bank reports that it conducted the survey with businesses owners in the bank's footprint to better understand stressors in business and banking for small businesses.

With respect to banking services, 28% reported that a lack of customer support was the biggest problem with their bank and 20% said limited banking locations was the largest problem.
