MDF names new CEO

The Maine Development Foundation has named interim President Edmund J. Cervone as its new president and CEO after a nationwide search.

Cervone, a Hallowell resident and city councilor, comes to the post after graduating from MDF's Leadership Maine program and serving as the organization's senior program director and operations officer since 2007. In June 2012, he took over as interim director.

The organization supports economic, work force, leadership and community development statewide. Its previous president, Laurie Lachance, left the post earlier this year to assume leadership of Thomas College in Waterville.
