$65M Bangor arena names GM

Global Spectrum, which operates the $65 million Cross Insurance Center now under construction, has hired Mike Dyer as the first general manager of the 8,000-seat Bangor arena set to open in fall 2013.

Dyer comes to the post after serving 25 years as director of Bangor's Bass Park Complex, which includes a 5,400-seat stadium and 20,000-square-foot civic center, according to the Bangor Daily News.

Dyer told the newspaper the new Bangor venue will be able to accommodate a variety of new shows, including indoor motocross and acts requiring facilities like those at TD Garden or Madison Square Garden.
