Boston firm buys Portland's Sage Data Security

Boston private investment firm Knob Hill Partners has acquired the Portland-based Sage Data Security for an undisclosed price.

Sage made the announcement today in a deal that, according to a company press release, will give it more capital and resources to continue a national expansion of its information security business.

Under the terms of the deal, Sage will keep its name, management team, employees and its Portland headquarters as Knob Hill's managing partners Charles Burckmeyer and Scott Noll assume operational responsibility for Sage.

Sage first opened its Portland headquarters in 2002.
