Single-family home sales up 23%

Single-family home sales in Maine continue to outpace last year as home sales for November increased 23% over November 2011, according to the Portland Press Herald.

The increase keeps pace with sales numbers for October, which came in nearly 25% higher than one year ago.

The figures from the Maine Real Estate Information System showed that Realtors in the state sold 1,058 homes this November compared with 856 homes during the same period a year ago.

The median sale price also increased nearly 2% from last year, to $172,250.
