Gov. Paul LePage has proposed a plan to increase timber harvests on state-owned lands, to generate revenue for helping Maine residents replace inefficient heating systems. The state's Bureau of Parks and Lands plans to increase its harvest from 141,500 cords to 180,000 cords over two years, harvesting at that higher level for 20 years. The National Resources Council of Maine has opposed the plan, saying the increased logging is not based on good science.
Are you in favor of LePage's timber harvesting plan?
