TideSmart Global, a Falmouth-based marketing firm with 50 employees, is expanding to the West Coast and will be opening a new agency, TideSmart West, in San Francisco. Its new West Coast office will start off with three employees, but is expected to reach upwards of 20 employees by the end of a year.

Stephen Woods, president and CEO of TideSmart Global, announced today in a release that Aaron Carpenter, former vice president of global marketing for The North Face and vice president of marketing, licensing and online sales for Signature by Levi Strauss & Co. Jeans, will lead TideSmart West as president and CEO.

“TideSmart Global, with its related companies, has grown and thrived in its first 14 years,” said Woods. “With our operations on the East Coast, and now with a presence in the West, it gives us the ability to expand our capabilities in digital marketing, brand strategy and sustainability and positions TideSmart to continue to be successful for many years to come.”

Carpenter most recently served as the CEO of ACV Consulting, advising global brands and technology startups on brand strategy, digital marketing, ecommerce, user experience, sales, and demand generation. He was also the chief customer officer and co-founder of HubNami, a social media intelligence platform for global retailers. At The North Face, Carpenter helped transform the marketing, digital, and sustainability teams and served as a key member of the executive team that grew The North Face from $1 billion to $2 billion in five years.

“With TideSmart West, we will combine a deep expertise in experiential marketing with my capabilities in digital marketing, global brand strategy and sustainability,” Carpenter said in the release announcing his appointment. “Our goal is to help innovative tech, lifestyle, automotive, health/wellness and consumer brands drive growth and thrive in the new economy.”

TideSmart Global, which was listed by Inc. 5000 in 2016 as one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S., consists of seven entities: EMG3, Promerica Health, Sumerian Sports, Viridescence Marketing, Confidential Consumer, TideSmart Logistics, and Magnetix Digital.
