Falmouth location is latest Radio Shack casualty

Radio Shack announced its bankruptcy filing in February 2015, and began closing stores in Maine, starting with 13 in Portland, Bangor, Brunswick and other communities.

The Forecaster reported that the Radio Shack store in the Falmouth Shopping Center is the latest casualty. It was among the 187 stores closed this week nationwide, with plans to close 365 more sometime in the first week of April. The Falmouth store was one of the few left in Maine.

General Wireless Operations acquired the Radio Shack brand in April 2015 after the company filed for bankruptcy. The latest closings come under a new bankruptcy filing by General Wireless, The Forecaster reported.

Business Insider reported that General Wireless will "continue to evaluate" the fate of its remaining 1,000 stores.
