In a 5-4 party line vote last week, Democratic members of the Labor, Commerce, Research and Economic Development Committee recommended that the full Legislature pass LD 1159, a bill that would create universal sick leave in Maine, including paid sick leave for 230,000 Mainers who work for companies with 50 or more employees. Companies with fewer than 50 employees would be required to at least offer sick leave without pay.
Do you support LD 1159’s plan for creating universal sick leave in Maine?
