Portland Buy Local has launched a search for a new executive director.

Jenn Thompson, the director for two years, plans to leave her post in October to relocate to Indiana with her family.

She will remain on the board of the American Independent Business Alliance and will stay involved with Portland Buy Local remotely as an advisory board member, the nonprofit said in Thursday’s announcement.

“Jenn has been an invaluable player in our organization’s growth and success over the past few years, and while we are sad to see her go, we’re excited for her next adventure,” Tony Cox, president of the Portland Buy Local board, said in the release. “In searching for her replacement, our board is looking for someone who will be dedicated to the mission of Portland Buy Local and eager to dive into Portland’s ever-expanding independent community.”

The group, started in 2006 by local business owners and citizens, has more than 450 members. It grew out of the Portland Independent Business and Community Alliance.

In the job posting, the organization said it has an annual budget of $75,000.
