In mid-May, U.S. Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, joined a bipartisan group of 87 members of Congress urging “swift and decisive action” by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and other executive branch departments to implement the congressional authorization increasing the number of H-2B visas. Doing so, they said, would enable small business to hire temporary foreign workers for positions that otherwise would go unfilled.
