The U.S. Travel Association reported this month that Maine workers rank No. 1 nationally for taking vacations. Even so, its Project: Time Off report found that in 2016 38% of Maine workers had leftover paid vacation time by the end of year. The association's researchers found that in the last 15 years a “culture of silence and work martyrdom” contributed to a national decline in vacation day usage — from 20 days annually to an all-time low of 16 days taken off each year. The report said corporate leadership is critical to building a culture that motivates employees to use their earned time off. So, we're curious:
