In addition to selecting Sea Bags LLC founder and President Beth Shissler and CEO Don Oakes as SBA’s Maine Small Business Persons of the Year, the U.S. Small Business Administration named the following businesses as the state’s other 2018 award winners.

“Small Business Week provides SBA with the opportunity to celebrate the achievements and successes of a number of deserving small business owners across the state,” said SBA’s Maine District Director Amy K. Bassett, noting that the selection of Sea Bags’ top two executives was based on the company’s continued growth with 13 stores and the support they’ve shown for the small business community in Maine. “Sea Bags demonstrates how Maine businesses are adapting to changing markets by combining traditional industries with new tastes.”
