As part of a community giving program for its 150th anniversary, the bank will grant up to $150,000 worth of wishes over the next 150 days. Non-customers and customers alike are invited to drop by a branch and place a wish on a tree.

Gorham Savings Bank, in celebration of its 150th anniversary, plans to grant up to $150,000 of wishes over the next 150 days as part of a community giving program called “Wish Tree.”

The bank has placed a Wish Tree in each of its branches and is inviting customers and non-customers to drop by, write down their wish on a special tag and tie the tag to the tree. The program extends through Nov. 15.

Wishes can be made for a friend, family member, acquaintance or even oneself. Not every wish can be granted and the bank is seeking to make the greatest impact for the greatest number of people with the program’s funds.

Each month, from July through November, the bank will grant up to $10,000 worth of wishes. At the conclusion of the 150 days, in December, it will grant up to $100,000 more. Wish recipients may receive their wish at a branch, or in some cases the bank will deliver it to a practical location.

“This initiative is about giving back to a community that has given so much to us over the past 150 years,” said Steve deCastro, president of Gorham Savings Bank. “We always strive to be a force for good in our community and we hope this program brings people a bit of joy, and in some small way can change some local lives for the better.”
