A York County real estate brokerage has expanded into Kittery.

Aland Realty opened the Kittery Foreside office at 25 Government St., filling in key market in York County between its original office in Ogunquit and a Portsmouth, N.H., office.

Aland Realty is owned by husband-and-wife Chris and Mariah Erikson, who live in Kittery.

The Seacoast business includes the brokerage as well as real estate development arm. Aland is finishing a mixed-use development, the Granary, at 175 Market St. in Portsmouth (also the site of its Portsmouth office).

Aland Realty is named for a chain of islands off the coast of Finland. Chris Erikson’s family came from there in the 1920s.

The couple met at the University of Miami School of Law. After law school, they practiced in Washington, D.C., for seven years. They started their real estate practice in Maine in 2011.
