Landry/French Construction, one of Maine’s leading commercial construction firms, has expanded into New Hampshire, opening an office in Portsmouth.

Based in Scarborough, Landry/French is an employee-owned company that was named one of Inc. 5000’s Fastest-Growing Companies in 2017 and 2016. It ranked 1,715 on the 2017 Inc. 5000 list, moving up significantly from the previous year’s ranking of 3,101. Over the three-year ranking period, Landry/French achieved revenue growth of 227% and reported revenue of $65.8 million for 2016.

Its 2018 revenues were $70 million and it has 45 employees.

Among the company’s recent construction projects in Maine: the Austin Street Brewery project in Portland; the town of Scarborough's $21.5 million public safety building; Colby College’s Alfond Commons dorm project in Waterville; and a two-building, 130,000 square feet project in Augusta building state office space for the Department of Health and Human Services and the Maine Employees Retirement System.

The expansion into New Hampshire is part of the company’s strategic plan and an important step in their continued growth, the company stated in a news release. The new office will allow the company to better service existing clients throughout the state, while cultivating new relationships.

Landry/French clients in New Hampshire include Maine-based companies like Bangor Savings Bank and Cross Insurance, as well as Memorial Hospital.

Mike McLaughlin will serve as senior vice president of the New Hampshire office. He brings nearly 25 years of industry experience in organizational management and leadership and has worked with some of the region’s top contractors, including Turner Construction and Commodore Builders.

“This is an exciting time for Landry/French as we expand into New Hampshire,” said Kevin French, who co-founded the company with Denis Landry in 2010. “Our new office will allow us to better serve existing clients in the state and focus on growing the company. The expansion is a natural progression for the company, and we’re excited about the new opportunities it will present.”
