Saco gunmaker wins $13M contract

Saco Defense has been awarded a $13 million contract to extend production of grenade launchers for the Army.

The contract for Saco Defense, part of General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, calls for deliveries of the MK19 grenade launcher to begin next year and extend through late 2011, according to the Associated Press. The extension brings the value of the contract initially awarded last year to $81 million.
