New poll shows LePage still leads

With less than two weeks before the election, Republican gubernatorial candidate Paul LePage still holds the lead in voter support, though 20% of voters are still undecided, according to a new survey from Pan Atlantic SMS Group.

The Omnibus Poll of 501 likely voters found that 32.9% said they would vote for or are leaning toward voting for LePage, while 28% said they supported Democratic candidate Libby Mitchell. Leading Independent candidate Eliot Cutler garnered 14% of voter support, while other Independents Shawn Moody and Kevin Scott earned 4.6% and 0.4%, respectively.

The survey also found that 49.1% of voters would vote yes on Question 1 to allow a casino resort in Oxford County, a slight margin over 44.7% who said they would vote against it. Pan Atlantic SMS surveyed voters between Oct. 11 and Oct. 15. The survey has a 4.4 margin of error.
