Maine Business School enrollment up 21%

The Maine Business School at the University of Orono reached a record enrollment this year of 947 undergraduate students, up from 785 students last year and 704 students two years ago.

The Bangor Daily News reported the growth puts the school ahead of undergraduate enrollment figures that hovered around 900 in years just before the recession.

Ivan Manev, dean of the business school, told the paper he credited the enrollment growth to recruitment and marketing efforts by the school’s Associate Dean Stephanie Welcomer and equipment like the new $2,000-a-month Bloomberg Terminal, which gives students real-time data from broad range of sources.
