Bangor Savings leader stepping down

James Conlon, president and CEO of Bangor Savings Bank, announced plans to retire June 1, 2015. The bank's board of directors selected the bank’s chief operations officer, Robert Montgomery-Rice, as Conlon's successor.

The bank said in a press release that the announcement is the result of an 18-month selection process. After retiring, Conlon will stay on as a member of the bank’s board of directors.

The bank said in a press release that Montgomery-Rice will be the bank’s 12th president since the bank’s founding in 1852. He started at Bangor Savings in 2004 and previously held executive management roles at BankBoston, Cambridgeport Bank and Fidelity Investments. Bangor Savings manages more than $3 billion in assets.
