Lewiston firm bought out from bank ownership

FISC Solutions, a Lewiston-based payment processing and business support firm, has been acquired by its senior management team from two regional banks.

The firm’s senior management team bought the company from its two previous Androscoggin Bank and Norway Savings Bank for an undisclosed price, the company announced on Friday in a press release. The firm will remain at 168 Lisbon St. in Lewiston and keep the two banks as its clients.

Jerry Blodgett, FISC’s president and CEO, said in a prepared statement that his team bought the company because the “development of technology has allowed FISC to expand beyond our original sole purpose of serving financial institutions.”

Blodgett said the firm also wanted to continue serving as a Maine-based employer. “Our senior management team takes great pride in knowing that we can continue to provide Maine jobs for our [75-plus] employees who live in the greater [Lewiston-Auburn] communities,” he said.

FISC, which started in 1977, provides back office processing services to nonprofits, financial institutions and businesses. The company has recently added clients in San Francisco, Chicago, New York City, New Jersey, Montana, Pennsylvania and Alabama
