Morrison retiring from Androscoggin chamber post

Chip Morrison, who has been the president of the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce for 19 years, is retiring from his post in the spring of 2015.

The Lewiston Sun Journal reported that the announcement came via the chamber’s July newsletter. Morrison’s replacement won’t come until July 2015.

The newspaper noted that Morrison, a former Auburn city manager, has been known for helping to increase chamber membership and unite the community. The chamber had 623 members when he started as president and is now at 1,365 — a figure that comes close to the approximately 1,400 members in the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce.
