Oxford Networks unveils $6M data center expansion

Oxford Networks unveiled its $6 million data center expansion at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station, a development that will allow the Lewiston-based company to increase its customer base for cloud computing services.

The Bangor Daily News reported that Oxford’s 7,000-square-foot expansion at Brunswick Landing comes after it acquired two data center businesses in 2012, and after was it purchased by Canadian private equity firm Novacap for approximately $50 million earlier this year.

Oxford has been providing cloud computing services to more than 60 customers of different sizes from its original 1,200-square-foot data center. The company’s cloud computing services allows companies to use computer hardware remotely at its data center, instead of having to manage their own hardware on-site.
