L.L.Bean stitches up fitting gift for Derek Jeter

New York Yankees retiring captain Derek Jeter, who received a hero’s sendoff in his final game at Yankee Stadium Thursday and deservedly so since he hit a dramatic game-winning single to deliver a come-from-behind victory over the Baltimore Orioles, is getting a special gift from L.L.Bean and the Boston Red Sox this weekend.

The Associated Press reported that L.L.Bean has produced a special pair of boots for the “captain,” sporting a Yankees logo and colors and which are lined with pinstripes. An L.L.Bean spokeswoman says the tongue of the boot has the years in which he and the Yankees won the World Series.

Like all Bean boots, they were hand-stitched in Brunswick, the AP reported.

The boots are expected to be presented by the Red Sox to Jeter this weekend when the Yankees close out their season at Fenway Park.
