Jay couple seeks partners to redevelop mill

The owners of the Otis Falls Mill in Jay are seeking investors and a developer to help them redevelop the former paper mill, possibly opening it up for use by the movie industry.

The Lewiston Sun Journal reported that Mary Howes and Tim DeMillo of Otis Ventures are mulling the possibility of turning the mill into a 20,000-square-foot, fully-functional banquet hall, estimated to cost between $6 million and $8 million. With just chairs, it would fit 1,500 people, a capacity that’s currently only available in Augusta and Lewiston for the region.

Howes and DeMillo said they also are considering marketing the mill’s large rooms to the movie industry as a place to shoot films.
