Metro bus could expand to Brunswick

The Greater Portland Transit District, also known as Metro, could expand bus service as far as Brunswick and make scheduling accommodations for businesses on the way as part of its expansion efforts, if the right pieces fall into place.

The Forecaster reported that Metro has begun discussions with the Brunswick Town Council about expanding to town, but it’s too early to tell if it would actually happen. The bus service is currently holding public outreach meetings for its proposed Yarmouth and Freeport routes.

Glenn Fenton, Metro’s chief transportation officer, said at a Monday meeting that Metro could make scheduling accommodations for employers like L.L.Bean, if there is enough interest.
