Customers of closed Bath business still in the dark

After Gediman’s Appliance abruptly closed four months ago, many customers are still wondering if the Bath business will give them the products they paid for, or at least a refund.

The Bangor Daily News reported that Keenan Auction is scheduled to sell more than 300 appliances at the business’ Bath and Lewiston locations on Friday. Despite business owner Peter Gagnon’s stated intentions in October to file for bankruptcy, the newspaper said it appears that he still hasn’t done so.

Heather Kindell-Leeman, co-owner of Christopher Leeman Building Construction, told the newspaper she has yet to hear from Gagnon or the Maine Attorney General’s office regarding the $6,000 she paid for an oven that she never received.

Gagnon’s attorney, Leonard Sharon, has previously said that Gagnon “bit off more than he could chew” when opening his second store in Lewiston. He said Gagnon was looking for financing to keep the business going, even after it closed.
