Fire guts Kennebunk commercial building
A commercial building in Kennebunk that housed two businesses was destroyed by a fire on Tuesday. No one was in the building at the time.
The Portland Press Herald reported that the Route 1 building housed All About Kitchens and Kennebunk Village Repair, which provides auto work. Kennebunk’s fire chief told the newspaper the building did not have a fire detection system or sprinkler system.
Investigators said they will be unable to determine a cause of the fire, which was reported early Tuesday morning, because of the extent of the damage, the Press Herald said.
