Portland engineer wins three Grammys

Bob Ludwig, owner of Gateway Mastering Studios in Portland, won three Grammys at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards Sunday night.

Ludwig, who previously had  won seven Grammys during his 46-year career, won awards for album of the year, best non-classical engineered album and best surround sound, WGME-13 reported. His mastering work was honored in the following categories:

• Album of the year for “Morning Phase” by Beck.

• Non-classical engineered album for “Morning Phase” by Beck.

• Best surround sound album for Beyonce’s self-titled album.

Ludwig also received a nod from Beck, who won rock album of the year for “Morning Phase.”
