Whitney nominated to lead MTI

Brian Whitney has been nominated by Gov. Paul LePage to serve as the Maine Technology Institute’s next president, six months after the previous leader’s ouster.

The Bangor Daily News reported that Whitney, a manager at the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, has been serving as MTI’s interim leader since former president Robert Martin was fired by LePage in August.

Whitney told the newspaper that he plans to set up “key performance indicators” for MTI projects if his nomination is confirmed by the Maine Senate.
