Workers' Comp Board fines state system

The Maine Workers’ Compensation Board has issued a $20,850 fine to the state’s own system for workers’ compensation over reporting errors found in an audit.

The Portland Press Herald reported that the state’s system received the largest fine out of the 15 workers’ compensation insurers or self-insured companies that were penalized.

The next largest fines were issued to Florida-based Guarantee Insurance Co. ($20,000) and New Jersey-based York Risk Services Group ($19,300).
