Pharmacy proposes new site at MaineGeneral

Kennebec Pharmacy and Home Care is proposing to build a new location with a drive-thru service at MaineGeneral Medical Center’s Augusta campus.

The Kennebec Journal reported that the pharmacy’s proposed 5,582-square-foot, two-story building would be located between MaineGeneral’s hospital and cancer center. The proposal goes in front of the Augusta Planning Board on Tuesday. Kennebec Pharmacy and Home Care currently operates a separate retail pharmacy and compounding laboratory in Augusta.

“We’re providing a service and making it convenient for patients at the hospital, who are seeing doctors at the medical office building there and at the cancer center, as well as employees,” said Mike Nowak, president of Kennebec Pharmacy and Home Care.
