Sebago Brewing plans ‘destination brewery’

Supported by the growing popularity of craft beer, Sebago Brewing Co. said it’s planning to build a “destination brewery” that could be located near downtown Gorham.

The Portland Press Herald reported that Sebago Brewing’s proposed brewery would provide tours and beer tastings. It would also include a tap room that would be able to host small- to medium-sized events and would serve beer-centric food. The company currently operates brewpubs in Gorham, Portland, Scarborough and Kennebunk.

The newspaper said Sebago Brewing is considering whether to locate the brewery at the intersection of Routes 25 and 237 in Gorham. The company’s request to rezone the land will be taken up by the Gorham Town Council on Tuesday.
