Carbonite to add 58 employees in Lewiston
Carbonite Inc. (NASDAQ:CARB), an online data backup service headquartered in Boston, plans to hire 58 new customer and technical support employees at its Lewiston office in the next two months.
The Sun Journal reported that with the new hirings, the company hopes to increase its Lewiston workforce to 320 employees by the end of the year.
Of the 58 people Carbonite is hoping to hire, 28 are to fill current openings and 30 are for new positions. The average pay at the company is more than $14 an hour, plus benefits, the Sun Journal reported.
The office is now located above a bowling alley in Fairgrounds Business Park, but the company is expecting to move elsewhere in Lewiston or Auburn sometime next year. Robert Frost, Carbonite's vice president of customer care, told the newspaper that space hasn’t been an issue at its current location, but it will be next year.
