Oxbow Brewery seeks $1 million in private equity

One of the most popular craft beer breweries in the state of Maine, Oxbow Brewing Co. LLC, filed a notice with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission allowing for the Newcastle-based company to solicit $1 million in private equity investment.

The Portland Press Herald reported that the company, which was founded in 2011, has already raised  $150,000 worth of the total and is looking to sell an additional $850,000. Investments for the brewery could be as low as $5,000 according to the filing.

Oxbow Brewing currently holds the fifth-place average for quality ratings in Maine, according to BeerAdvocate Magazine.

In addition to a production and tasting room in Newcastle, Oxbow also has a tasting room in the popular East Bayside community of Portland. Its beer also is available in restaurants and bars in Maine, Vermont, New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
