C&L Aerospace eyes expansion at Bangor airport

An aircraft-servicing-and-maintenance company that has been growing since its 2010 move to Bangor is pushing for another expansion, the Bangor Daily News reported.

C&L Aerospace leases a trio of hangars at Bangor International Airport and now wants to lease and renovate a fourth vacant hangar in the same area.

According to C&L’s website, the company is a global aviation services and aftermarket-support provider for regional and corporate aircraft specializing in quality parts, service, sales, leasing, maintenance, aircraft refurbishment and aircraft re-marketing. At BIA, the company has a state-of-the-art 120,000 square-foot facility; the company also maintains sales offices and warehouses around the globe.

In May 2010, the company took over the Telford Aviation Services aircraft maintenance facility at BIA — a facility that was set to close—and invested in new equipment and new operations, even producing equipment for its own use and for sale to other companies.

The city’s economic development staff said they plan to work with C&L to apply for a federal Economic Development Administration grant to help cover some costs associated with the renovations that would be needed at the hangar.
