FedEx to take over former Hostess plant in Biddeford
FedEx is expected to move into the vacant 265,000-square-foot industrial space later this year at 1 Bakers Way in Biddeford formerly occupied by the Hostess Brands bakery, the Portland Press Herald reported.
The bakery closed in 2012, with a loss of 370 jobs. The baking facility produced rolls, cakes and Wonder Bread. Hostess' closure was part of a bankruptcy reorganization.
Daniel Stevenson, Biddeford’s director of economic development, told the paper the property is well suited for a company like FedEx.
