Sunday River to host first annual Chef Summit

LOGO COURTESY / NEW ENGLAND CHEF SUMMIT The New England Chef Summit will bring some of the top culinary experts in Maine and New England together at Sunday River ski resort.

This Saturday, Sunday River and the Portland-based kitchen studio O’Maine Studios have partnered to bring the first annual New England Chef Summit to the popular ski resort located in Newry.

According to a press release by Sunday River, the summit will bring together some of the most recognizable chefs, farmers and food producers from across Maine and greater New England.

Saturday’s Summit will be hosting five industry-based discussions about marketing, foodie tourism and branding in New England. The following restaurants and award-winning chefs are among those slated to attend the summit and participating in a sampling:

  • Hugo's, Eventide Oyster Co, Honey Paw: Arlin Smith, Andrew Taylor, Mike Wiley, voted Restaurant of the Year in the 2016 Eater Awards (Portland)
  • Café Miranda: Kerry Altiero, voted “Down East” magazine’s Best Chef in Maine for 2015 (Rockland)
  • EVO Kitchen + Bar: Matt Ginn, voted 2016 Lobster Chef of the Year (Portland)
  • David's: David Turin voted 2012 Maine Chef of the Year (Kennebunk/Portland)
  • The Library: Jesse Farrington, recognized in “Wine Spectator” magazine’s "Best of" (Portsmouth)

Tickets for the summit are available online through Sunday River and are $65 each, which includes access to the panels, tastings and beverage tickets.
