Massachusetts business owner purchases Mount Jefferson Ski Area

The Mount Jefferson Ski Area is under new ownership, as a Massachusetts ticket broker has purchased the 51-year-old family business.

Ken Zimmerman, the owner of an online event ticket marketplace, purchased the 160-acre parcel, in addition to a 6-acre plot adjacent to the property for an undisclosed price, according to The Bangor Daily News.

The new owner plans to add night skiing, camping, snow tubing and, at a later time, outdoor concerts.

The now former co-owners Byron and Randy Delano said a number of factors led to selling the property to Zimmerman, including his desire to continue operating it as a ski area as opposed to just being the owner of two cell phone towers located on the property.
