Long-time Bath hardware location under new ownership

A 140-year-old, Bath-based retail hardware business has announced that it has been sold to a Massachusetts family-owned hardware company.

Rogers Ace Hardware, which has been operating out of its 55 Congress Ave. location in Bath since 1985, was purchased by Springfield-based Rocky’s Ace Hardware owners Rocco, Donna and son Johnny Falcone earlier in the week.

The seller was owner-and-operator John Hichborn, according to The Portland Press Herald. The store was founded in 1872 and has been family owned throughout its existence.

Rocky’s Ace Hardware currently operates several stores across New England, including locations in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
