Windham upstart packs up for Lewiston

Anchour, a marketing, branding and social media company founded three years ago, moved from Windham to downtown Lewiston last month, bringing its 10 employees, the Sun Journal reported.

Director of Operations Josh Pritchard told the paper the company wanted to be part of the Lewiston/Auburn area’s upswing and 25% of their clients are already there. The company has clients as far as away New York, California, Norway and Australia.

In Lewiston, Anchour arrives in a city that has been actively pursuing greater investment in its physical assets, growth in new creative sectors and economic diversity and capacity, with planners seeing great potential in the urban core surrounded by rural edges. And 65% of Maine’s population lives within 30 miles of the Lewiston/Auburn metropolitan area.

"I feel like we have an opportunity to really affect a culture … with collaboration and community involvement," Pritchard told the paper. "It's not if, but when, Lewiston-Auburn is a focal point in Maine from the outside looking in."
