TransCanada puts Kibby wind farm on the block

As part of its effort to finance its $10 billion purchase of the Houston-based Columbia Pipeline Group, TransCanada of Calgary, Alberta, hopes to sell its New England power generation assets, which include the Kibby wind farm in Franklin County.

The wind farm, which was valued at $320 million during its construction, is one of the largest wind farms in the region with 44 turbines that generate enough power for 50,000 homes, according to the Portland Press Herald.

In addition to the Kibby wind farm, TransCanada is looking to sell its hydroelectric dams on the Connecticut River as well as its power generating plants in Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and New York.
